If you frequent the Great Lakes area you know that weather can change
in the blink of an eye. Of course, weather will be playing a critical roll
in your trip to the Fox Hollow Salmon River Lodge. Most of us in the Great
Lakes regions do not just rely on one source for our weather data. We
check multiple sources and try get the most accurate forecast possible.
The Great Lakes regions are unique in the sense that our weather is
different than most other parts of the country. Lake Ontario is so large
that it creates its own weather systems. It is not uncommon for us to get
very localized and significant weather systems. The most common term used
when describing Lake born systems that are responsible for rain and snow
is "Lake Effect." A good example of this would be the following Scenario.
Syracuse, NY might not get any snow in a 24 hour period and Pulaski, NY
might get 2 feet of snow in that same 24 hour period. So, keep an eye on
the weather. |
